Mechanism of Exam Grievance Redressal Committee (EGRC)

Academic Year 2025–26

The Examination Grievance Redressal Committee (EGRC) ensures fair, transparent, and timely resolution of all examination-related issues faced by students. The committee provides a structured system through which students can raise their concerns and receive proper guidance and solutions.

1. Purpose of the Committee

 
  • To provide students with a formal platform to raise examination-related grievances.
  • To resolve issues in a fair and transparent manner as per AICTE and MSBTE norms.
  • To maintain the integrity and accuracy of internal and external examination processes.

2. Types of Grievances Considered

 

The EGRC addresses issues such as:

  • Errors in internal assessment marks or attendance records
  • Queries related to examination schedules, hall tickets, and seating arrangements
  • Issues in question papers (format, printing mistakes, etc.)
  • Problems related to examination conduct or evaluation
  • Delay in declaration of internal marks
  • Any other examination-related concern affecting a student’s academic progress

3. Procedure for Submitting a Grievance

 
  1. Written Application:
    The student submits a written grievance in the prescribed format to the Member Secretary (HOD) or through the Examination Cell.
  2. Supporting Documents:
    Students must attach relevant documents (mark sheets, screenshots, notices, etc.) to support their complaint.
  3. Acknowledgement:
    The committee acknowledges the grievance within 2 working days.

4. Grievance Redressal Process

 
  1. Review of the Grievance:
    The committee examines the application, verifies records, and interacts with concerned faculty or staff if required.
  2. Meeting of EGRC:
    A committee meeting is conducted within 7 working days to discuss and decide on the grievance.
  3. Decision & Action:
    • The committee provides a solution based on rules, evidence, and fairness.
    • Necessary corrections or recommendations are forwarded to the Examination Cell / MSBTE, if applicable.
  4. Communication to Student:
    The decision is conveyed to the student in writing within 10 working days.

5. Appeal Process

 

If the student is not satisfied with the committee’s decision, an appeal may be made to:

  • The Principal (Chairman of EGRC), or
  • The higher authority as per MSBTE / AICTE norms.

6. Confidentiality and Transparency

 
  • All grievances are treated confidentially.
  • The committee ensures impartial and transparent handling of every case.
  • Records of grievances and resolutions are maintained for audit and compliance purposes.
