Academic Monitoring Committee (AMC)

 

Aim

 

The Academic Monitoring Committee (AMC) aims to monitor and streamline academic activities by ensuring effective planning, execution, and evaluation. The committee focuses on enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, monitoring student performance, identifying academic gaps, and facilitating continuous academic improvement across all departments.

Objectives

 

The objective of the Academic Monitoring Committee (AMC) is to oversee the institute’s academic and evaluation activities to ensure timely and effective curriculum delivery and to provide recommendations to the administration for strengthening academic processes and strategic priorities.

To achieve these objectives, the committee ensures:

  • Smooth and uniform execution of academic and evaluation processes across all departments.
  • Effective monitoring of student attendance, class timetables, and the conduct of theory and practical sessions.
  • Regular review of students’ academic performance and implementation of appropriate measures such as remedial classes, mentoring sessions, academic support programs, and follow-up actions.
  • Continuous supervision and improvement initiatives to ensure that academic quality remains a top institutional priority.

Roles and Responsibilities

 
  • To plan academic activities and review the academic calendar, teaching plans, workload distribution, and timetables for all departments.
  • To monitor curriculum delivery by ensuring that theory and practical sessions are conducted as scheduled and that syllabus progress is maintained.
  • To review student attendance and academic discipline regularly and take necessary action in cases of shortages or irregularities.
  • To conduct periodic review meetings to assess teaching–learning activities, syllabus completion, and academic challenges.
  • To evaluate student performance through internal examinations, practical work, assignments, and assessments.
  • To recommend and monitor remedial classes, mentoring, enrichment programs, and other academic support measures based on performance reviews.
  • To collect and share feedback from students and faculty on academic processes and suggest improvements wherever required.
  • To support quality enhancement by encouraging ICT-enabled teaching and innovative teaching methods.
